Fokker Aerostructures will be responsible for the design and manufacture of the empennage
Fokker Aerostructures has announced that it will
participate in the development and production of the Dassault SMS, the latest
business jet program of Dassault Aviation which is planned to enter into
service in 2016. Fokker is responsible for the innovative design and the
manufacturing of the complete empennage.
Engineering teams of both companies
collaborate closely together in Paris
to optimize the application of the latest generation of composite materials in
the design of the tail section. Fokker executive Henk Valk said: “We are proud
that Dassault Aviation has selected Fokker to work on the SMS program. This means
a high-value flow of work in a state-of-the-art aircraft program with all its
associated spin-off benefits. The SMS participation also means a prolongation
of the good collaboration with Dassault which we have already enjoyed on the
Falcon 7X program”
