Gama Group has announced the completion of the 50th EASA Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) by Gama Engineering Ltd.

Harry Lees and Trevor PergrumGama Engineering Ltd, a Gama Group company, held a special fly-in event and BBQ for existing and prospective customers at its Fairoaks Airport base on Saturday, 15 September, to celebrate the first anniversary of the coming together of Lees Avionics Ltd and the engineering teams from Mann Aviation Group (Engineering) Ltd.

Gama Engineering announced it recently completed its 50th EASA STC – a milestone for the design office. The work entailed design and certification of a Garmin G600 EFIS system into a BN Islander aircraft used by the Belgian Coastguard. Gama carried out the design work on behalf of ASP Avionics from Belgium, one of many mainland-Europe customers taking advantage of Gama’s proven design and certification experience.

“It has been a most rewarding and productive first year for the Gama Engineering team,” said Harry Lees, managing director of Gama Engineering Ltd. “I am especially pleased that the growth of our Fairoaks activities has resulted in us employing three new engineering trainees, that our design office has completed a remarkable number of STCs, reaching the 50th milestone and of course our role in modifying and certifying the aircraft for the flypast which opened the London 2012 Paralympics. We look forward to continued growth in the next 12 months as we expand our rotary maintenance department and work towards gaining DAOS (military design) approval.”
