Dassault Falcon revenues jump 39% in first half of 2024
French aerospace manufacturer Dassault Aviation announced financial results for the first half of 2024 reporting revenue growth of 39% year-over-year to €980m compared to €827m in its Falcon segment owing to higher deliveries.
“In the civilian sector, during the first half of the year, we recorded 11 Falcon orders, compared with 12 in the first half of 2023, and delivered 12 Falcon, compared with 9 in the first half of 2023, delivered the first Falcon 6X to customers and continued the world tour, continued the development and manufacture of the first Falcon 10X. First deliveries are scheduled for 2027,” said Éric Trappier, CEO of Dassault Aviation.
Falcon’s backlog at June 30, 2024 stood at €4.7bn as of June 30, 2024 compared to €4.6bn at the end of December 31, 2023. The company’s Falcon orderbook stood at 83, one lower than 84 as of December 31, 2023.
During the first half, Falcon’s order intake amounted to €1bn, up from last year’s €943m mainly due to a favourable product mix.
The company, in its full year outlook at the start of the year, set a target to deliver 35 Falcon jets in 2024.
However, Dassault also warned that its production is suffering from a difficult supply chain.
“There are many shortages in our production lines due to supplier inefficiencies in some cases, especially in the aerostructure sector. These difficulties have given rise to risks affecting Falcon and Rafale deliveries, and also impact customer support,” said the company. It further added that it is taking internal and external measures to mitigate these effects.
The company said it is taking steps to decarbonise its product portfolio. “The sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) plan that we have put in place is ramping up by the intensification of the use of alternative fuels,” the company said in its earnings report.
