Export Development Canada has closed a facility to finance one Global 5000 and four Global 6000s for Minsheng Financial Leasing, China’s largest financier of business jets.

Minsheng Financial Leasing (MSFL) will then lease the aircraft to Chinese buyers.

“MSFL is a key customer in a priority market for EDC, and we are honored to have the opportunity to work with them,” said Benoit Daignault, Senior Vice-President and Global Head of Financing and Investments, EDC. “EDC’s role is to provide a financing solution that allows MSFL to advance its interests in the business jet leasing industry, on its own terms, using Bombardier aircraft.”

Minsheng is also working on a US Export-Import facility to finance imports of Gulfstream aircraft into China. Airfinance is arranging that transaction with Apple Bank funding it.

This is the second time that Export Development Canada has financed business aircraft for a Chinese leasing company. In 2012 it financed five Global 6000s for ICBC Leasing to lease to VistaJet. It was named Corporate Jet Investor’s Deal of the Year.
