ExecuJet Australia plans to expand Essendon facility
ExecuJet Australasia has announced plans for a new facility at Melbourne Essendon Airport
ExecuJet Australasia is to expand its maintenance facility at Essendon Airport in Melbourne, Australia.
The company runs a private hangar in a secure hangar precinct at the airport and plans to add a Fixed Base Operation (FBO), with integrated lounge area, offices, stores and maintenance workshops. Construction should be completed by August 2011.
“We have planned to take on a further six staff to run the new facility” said Darren McGoldrick, managing director ExecuJet Australasia. “We will be operating a full service FBO, aircraft management and charter, as well as our existing maintenance capabilities.” The existing hangar accommodates two large and two midsize jets and currently employs a workforce of 10 staff, consisting of maintenance engineers, aircrew and administrative staff.
“We are already certified to work on a large range of business jets but plan to enhance our maintenance capabilities in the near future” said Grant Ingall, maintenance director. “We also provide a 24-hour call out service which ensures that any aircraft downtime is kept to a minimum”.
