Elliott Aviation signs their fifth Citation Excel-XLS Garmin G5000 installation

Elliott Aviation recently announced the sale of their fifth Citation Excel/XLS Garmin G5000 retrofit.

Elliott Aviation was the first dealer to install a Garmin G5000 retrofit, which was in a 2006 Hawker 400XP. In total, they have installed over 15 Garmin G5000 systems. In addition, they have installed more than 300 Garmin G1000 and G1000NXi systems in King Airs which is more than all dealers in the world, combined.

The Garmin G5000 retrofit programme for the Citation Excel and XLS is a complete replacement of the entire avionics suite including a new Garmin autopilot system. The G5000 system offers Citation Excel and XLS operators a lower cost of ownership, weight savings, integrated WAAS with LPV approach capability, dual channel digital flight control system and an integrated engine indication and crew alerting system (EICAS). Optionally, the system supports synthetic vision, turbulence detection, SurfaceWatch, underspeed protection, Chartview, and lightning and hail prediction capabilities, as well as CPDLC-based functions.

Certification and availability of the Garmin G5000 system for the Citation Excel and XLS is expected in early 2019.
