Eclipse unveils the Eclipse 550 jet at the NBAA in Las Vegas.
Eclipse Aerospace unveils the first new production Eclipse 550 twin-engine jet at the National Business Aviation Association convention and exhibition in Las Vegas, Nevada. This is the first time the aircraft has been on public display.
Eclipse said that certification and flight tests have been completed and that final acceptance from the FAA is being carried out. The company expects to make the first deliveries of the new jet in the next few weeks.
The Eclipse 550 is powered by two Pratt & Whitney Canada P610F jet engines and has the ability to fly to altitudes of up to 41,000 feet at a max cruise of 430 mph. It has a maximum capacity of six passengers.
