Duncan Aviation opens 36,000sqft engine overhaul shop at Lincoln HQ
The new facility features twelve dedicated maintenance bays.
Duncan Aviation has dedicated its newly expanded Turbine Engine Overhaul Shop at its Lincoln, Nebraska headquarters, adding 36,000sqft of capacity to meet growing global demand for business aviation engine maintenance.
The expansion builds on Duncan Aviation’s status as a Designated Overhaul Facility for Pratt & Whitney’s PW300 and PW500 turbofan engines and is designed to attract new international engine service business alongside faster turnaround times for existing customers.
“This investment in our engine programme ensures we will have the capacity to support our customers’ needs for many years to come,” said Scott Stoki, vice president of Engine Operations at Duncan Aviation.
The new facility features twelve dedicated maintenance bays, expanded and centrally located backshops with advanced tooling, a new test cell and control room supplied by Atec Inc., a parts inventory warehouse, and a 12,000-gallon fuel tank with backup system for continuous test cell operations.
Sixteen overhead cranes ranging from one to two tons have been installed for handling large engine components.
The expansion also incorporates modern office space, conference rooms and crew facilities for both customers and staff. Duncan Aviation’s in-house manufacturing division, Duncan Manufacturing Solutions, directly supports the engine programme through service bulletins, complex repairs and parts support.
The facility was unveiled at a ceremony attended by state and local dignitaries, airport officials, OEM representatives from Pratt & Whitney and Rolls-Royce, customers and staff.
The PW300 powers a wide range of midsize business jets, including the entire Dassault Falcon 2000 series, the Falcon 7X and the Learjet 60. The PW500, meanwhile, powers light to midsize platforms including the Embraer Phenom 300 and the Cessna Citation Bravo.
