Down-route launches crew hotel booking and expense management app
London based charter and management specialist Private Jet Central have launched a new smartphone application to help with crew hotel bookings and expense management.
Named Down-route, the application gives business aviation operators the ability to monitor crew expenses in real time as their crews travel around the world.
Operations staff and crew will be able to access discounted rates directly through the application, thanks to the Down-route’s group buying power.
The company says that managers will be able to set an upper price limit on hotel rooms, which will allow them to keep a tighter control of expenses.
Although the app and website are currently in the final stages of development, the Down-route team have already begun talking to potential users, including Air Alsie.
Tom Carstensen of the Danish operator said “We have worked closely with Private Jet Central on other projects and were really interested to hear about the Down-Route App. The idea of getting good rates for our hotel bookings and then linking straight in to an expenses management feature is something new and Air Alsie is looking forward to the launch of the App and being among the first to see the benefits to our business”.
Down-route say that they will constantly update the app and add new features following the initial launch “After the launch, it will be continuously developed with new features based on user feedback. For operators a journey log is in the pipeline and later generations might include table booking, theatre booking and ‘closed loop’ crew chat and social media features.”
