David Welsh promoted to manager at FlightSafety Lafayette

FlightSafety International has announced that David Welch has been promoted to manager at the learning center in Lafayette, Louisiana.

Welsh replaces Ampy Calatayud who has been named manager, West Palm Beach learning center.

“We congratulate Dave on this well-deserved promotion to manager of the Lafayette learning center,” said Greg McGowan, senior vice president, Operations. “Dave gained extensive experience with helicopter operations while serving in the United States Navy for 20 years. His military service, in-depth understanding of FlightSafety’s training programs, leadership skills, and commitment to provide high quality programs and services tailored to the specific needs of our Customers, made him the ideal person to lead the Lafayette Center.”

Welsh began his career with FlightSafety in 1995 as a senior analyst and program manager. Most recently, Welsh was promoted to director of training at the Lafayette center in 2008.
