Company delivers 19 Falcon jets and receives orders for 22 aircraft in first six months of 2011

Falcon 2000SDassault Aviation released its orders and delivery figures for its Falcon executive jet range of aircraft for the first six months of 2011.

The company delivered 19 Falcon jets during the period, compared with 45 aircraft in the first half of 2010. Dassault had 22 orders for executive jets in the first half of 2011, this compared with only two aircraft in the same period last year.

Dassault Aviation says it will deliver around 65 Falcon jets in 2011.

Concerning business jets according to Dassault, the situation is improving, slowly recovering but still far from the levels of activity in 2008. The company believes that the period of cancellations is behind them and that the pre-owned market is improving. An increase in pre-owned sales reduces the number of available aircraft and this has stabilised prices. This trend has to emphasize before new aircraft orders take off again, considering sales are often financed by prior pre-owned aircraft re-sales.

Moreover, American and European markets are cautious, as too many uncertainties remain before growth earnings being transformed into new investments. Latin America and India show significant dynamism. China is becoming our first market since the beginning of the year. Middle East was sending positive signals but recent unrest clearly affects short term international trade adversely.
