CITIC Offshore Helicopters orders two S-92s
Chinese company CITIC (COHC) signed a contract for two Sikorsky S-92 helicopters at Paris Air Show.
Chinese company CITIC (COHC) signed a contract for two Sikorsky S-92 helicopters at Paris Air Show.
The new helicopters will be used in offshore oil transportation. COHC is based in Shenzhen, Guandong, China and is the largest provider of offshore operations in China. The contract was signed in May and announced at the Paris air show.
“The offshore oil market in China is growing rapidly, and the S-92 helicopter has proven to be a reliable and safe performer in many locations around the world, including China, where Sikorsky products are now being operated by all three major offshore oil service providers,” said Robert Kokorda, Sikorsky vice president of Sales & Marketing. “COHC is one of the newest customers for Sikorsky Aircraft, but we are focused on providing them with world-class products and support, and are confident that this marks the beginning of a long-term relationship between us.”
Sikorsky plans to deliver the new S-92 helicopters in December 2014 and March 2015.
