China’s Civil Aviation Administration has validated the Gulfstream G650 and G650ERs type certificate.

Although Gulfstream has already delivered a number of G650s to clients in both greater China as well as on the mainland, none of these aircraft have yet been registered on the local B- mainland register.

There are currently two Gulfstream G650s registered on the Hong Kong B- register.

“The G650 and G650ER demonstrate real-world capability that our customers value,” said Scott Neal, senior vice president, Worldwide Sales, Gulfstream. “As business aviation needs in the Asia-Pacific region continue to increase, we are pleased to offer our customers in China the safety, performance and reliability that the G650 and G650ER offer.”

Sam Rabbitt of AvPro says that there are around 30 G650s currently operating in the greater China region, although these are mostly registered on the Cayman Islands VP-C register.

As well as new aircraft deliveries into the country, the number of pre-owned aircraft entering the country has also increased.

“There have been 9 pre-owned G650s that have been bought by Chinese buyers over the past year, and only one Chinese seller” says Rabbitt.
