Cannes Mandelieu has lifted its weight restrictions, allowing larger heavier aircraft to use the airport.

Effective October 1, the airport will be able to accept aircraft weighing up to 35 tonnes.

With the weight restrictions lifted, the airport will be able to handle large, long range jets.

Thierry Pollet, director of Cannes Mandelieu Airport said, “This victory is the result of discussions with all
stakeholders that strive to uphold commitments and frameworks having generated significant progress in
terms of the environment and the economic development of the territory”.

Cannes Mandelieu Airport is part of the Aéroports de la Côte d’Azur group, which also includes Nice Airport, and SKY VALET aircraft handlers.

“This large-scale achievement reinforces customers’ trust in the business aviation network of the Aéroports de la Côte d’Azur Group and that of local residents who will be able to observe a drop in noise pollution.” said Dominique Thillaud, chairman of the Board of Aéroports de la Côte d’Azur, “This is a strong signal that reinforces work conducted in close synergy with our three platforms, both on environmental issues and in terms of customer service quality”.

The company was recently the first in Europe to receive IS-BAH (International Standard for Business Aircraft Handling) certification for the safety and the efficiency for its SKY VALET services.
