Bombardier’s Challenger 350 most-delivered medium jet in 2020

Bombardier’s Challenger 350 was the most-delivered medium category business jet in 2020 for a seventh consecutive year, according to the General Aviation Manufacturers Association’s (GAMA) annual shipment and billings report.

The company also topped its competition in the fourth quarter of 2020 delivering 44 aircraft. Driven by a record 16 Global 7500 deliveries.

Last year , Bombardier announced orders for 10 Challenger 350s in a transactions valued at $267m and also marked the 350th delivery of aircraft, after seven years in service. The Challenger 350 now features an expanded selection of interior design schemes, Viasat Ka-band connectivity and an updated cabin management system, inspired by the Global 7500.

The price of a Challenger 350 is between $12.5m and $19m for models delivered in the last five years of production, according to AircraftBluebook.

The success of the Challenger 350 bodes well for Bombardier. Having now sold its rail business to Alstom and announced the end of the Learjet model line, the Canadian OEM is now free to focus upon its success Challenger and Global ranges.

Elsewhere in GAMA’s report, which was published on February 24th, total airplane shipments were down 9.7% last year compared with 2019. Of this decline business jets saw the biggest drop at 20.4%, 809 delivered in 2019 compared with 644 in 2020.
