Bombardier selects ViaSat for airborne communications
ViaSat to offer office in the sky to Global aircraft
ViaSat has been selected by Bombardier
Aerospace to provide airborne communications as part of a new high-speed internet
option on Global 5000 and Global 6000 executive jets.
“Aircraft equipped with this option will be
able to use our Yonder high-speed Internet service to enjoy a modern
office environment anywhere in our coverage network,” said Don Buchman, ViaSat
director of mobile broadband. “Because of its high-speed connection and global
coverage, Yonder service really is a one-of-a-kind offering. Now Global aircraft customers can gain
access to it and make the most efficient use of their time onboard.”
“Global business aircraft cabins are
specifically designed to provide a highly productive working environment, a key
factor in making these aircraft a leading choice for corporations worldwide.
EMS Aviation and ViaSat have been leading the charge in the development of
communication systems, using EMS high-speed routers and Yonder high-speed
Internet service to provide the highest performance in-flight data service
possible,” said Stéphane Leblanc, vice president and general manager, Global
Platform, Bombardier Business Aircraft.
