Bombardier is set to launch a phased expansion across multiple sites within its US services and support network to meet increased demand for OEM-backed maintenance.

Expansion projects are expected to roll out over the coming years, and will be focused on both regions where Bombardier currently operates, as well as new ones. The Canadian aircraft maker is keen to bolster US capabilities partly to support its new Global 8000 business jet expected to enter service later this year.

“Bombardier’s fleet in the United States is growing at a rapid pace, and so should our American network of services and support,” said Paul Sislian, executive vice president, Bombardier Aftermarket Services and Strategy. “Today’s announcement demonstrates our full commitment to provide exceptional care and seamless convenience, so that our customers can fly with total confidence.”

As part of this large-scale expansion investment, Bombardier said it will prioritise talent recruitment and workforce development. It also will focus on expanding its apprenticeship and talent programmes with local communities with a focus on airframe and powerplant technicians, as well as other skilled workers.

Bombardier’s already has service centres in US locations including Dallas, Tucson, Hartford, Wichita and, most recently, Miami Opa Locka. It also has a parts distribution centre in Chicago and mobile response teams deployed across 20 locations nationwide.
