Bombardier celebrates its 50th Global 7500 aircraft delivery

Bombardier has delivered its 50th Global 7500 ultra-long range business jet, after making 35 deliveries last year, including a record-breaking 16 deliveries in the fourth quarter.
“This announcement is important because it demonstrates how quickly the programme is ramping up in terms of deliveries,” Anna Cristofaro, the OEM’s manager Communications and PR, told Corporate Jet Investor. “We have a strong backlog on the Global 7500 aircraft, and we’re thrilled with the response we’re receiving – we can’t wait to get even more Global 7500 business jets delivered to our customers.”
Entering service in 2018, the Global 7500 has a range of 7,700 nautical miles (14, 260km). Flying at M 0.85, it can carry eight passengers non-stop from New York to Hong Kong, and Singapore to San Francisco. Since its entry into service the jet is said to have achieved a dispatch reliability rate of 99.7%. The aircraft’s leading-edge wing design is also said to offer steep approach capability and short-field performance.
Buyers favoured the Global 750 not just tor its range, reliability and performance but also the security it offers against Covid-19, said Cristofaro. “More than ever, we’re seeing customers that want peace of mind when travelling – they want to be in full control of their flight experience and the Global 7500 aircraft is designed to maximise wellness and respond to concerns that have been heightened by the pandemic.”
The aircraft’s large, four-zone cabin offers increased comfort and generous space, allowing passengers to sit at a comfortable distance from one another, Cristofaro added. “Air quality is also a very important feature – the Global 7500 business jet features Bombardier Pũr Air, a highly sophisticated air purification and circulation system with an advanced HEPA filter that captures up to 99.99% of allergens, bacteria and viruses, and offering both purified and 100% fresh air,” she added.
Éric Martel, Bombardier president and CEO, described the Global 7500 as “the industry flagship”. He said: “The Global 7500 aircraft is unrivalled in the market. It provides an unmatched combination of speed, range, comfort and reliability, making it both the industry flagship and a key driver of our growth strategy.”
The Global 7500 aircraft is the first business jet to have an Environmental Product Declaration (EPD), which details the aircraft’s life cycle environmental footprint.
The 50th Global 7500 delivery follows 35 deliveries last year with 16 made in the fourth quarter.
