The airport moves up 8th in the ‘Most Popular Arrivals Airport’ in Europe according to Avinode

Biggin Hill and Olympic torchesLondon’s Biggin
Hill Airport
has leapt up the rankings of ‘Most Popular Arrivals
Airport’ to position at No 8 in Europe in the latest business aircraft classification
published last week.

Analysed and assessed by Avinode Business Intelligence, the listing
includes CIS airports such as Moscow’s
Vnukovo that retains the Number one position again.

In a separate statistical presentation, London Biggin Hill continues to
claim 3rd place in the UK ranking of ‘average daily
business departures’ with a year to date growth rate of 12.9%.

As the management team at Biggin Hill move towards the final planning
stage of preparation for the 2012 Olympic Games, managing director Jenny Munro
says that the upgrading of the infrastructure and the opening of new key
facilities at the airport during the year will extend choice and enhance
customer service.”With three top quality FBO’s at the airport, the number augmented  with the recent opening of the Rizonjet
facility, choice becomes a meaningful entity, as is the case with the MRO’s now
available here.   The opening last month
of our new 50,000 sq ft hangar and associated ramp has brought a surge in new
customer enquiries” she says.

Attending a London Chamber of Commerce dinner last week presided by IAG chief executive Willie Walsh in the City of London at which Olympic supreme
Lord Coe was Guest of Honour, Jenny Munro and business development manager
Robert Walters had an opportunity to sample the 2012 Olympic torch and to
compare it with the torch used at the 1948 Olympics held in London.  “We are proud to be carrying a torch for the 2012 Games and all of us at Biggin Hill Airport welcome this unique opportunity to look after
business aircraft, their passengers and crews from around the world, at one of
the principal gateways to London
and the Olympic Park” says Jenny Munro.
