Bell delivered 213 commercial helicopters in 2013
Bell ends 2014 with a strong fourth quarter to bring up yearly total.
Bell delivered 213 commercial helicopters throughout 2014 and 75 in the fourth quarter alone, as was reported in parent company, Textron’s latest investor call.
The company’s annual total was up 13 per cent on last year’s total of 188 commerical helicopters.
“Oil and gas has been strong said Scott Donnelly, chairman, CEO and president of Textron. “Emergency medical service has been quite good and as I said, we’ve seen significant growth in the 40.”
Donnelly said he expects to see a continuation of the demand for Bell’s 407GX and 429 helicopters. He noted that “most markets outside of US and Europe” have approved the product’s additional 500 pound gross weight increase and said the helicopter is “doing extremely well in a very broad range of markets.”
He added: “The strength in terms of what’s going on in the helicopter market has been good and our share, as a result of the new product, has been growing.”
