Bangor International Airport showcased the services on offer to transatlantic travellers at the three-day Business Airport World Expo 2013 at Farnborough Airport, which ended today.
The airport has a reputation for safe quick turnarounds for business jets and can easily handle very large business aircraft such as the Airbus Corporate Jet and Boeing Business Jet, even when the airport is covered in heavy snow.
The airport can turnaround a Gulfstream 4 sized aircraft in 30 minutes, whilst full government clearance can take a hour for a Boeing 757. Business aircraft regularly land and clear US customs at Bangor, before flying to the airports in the New York area, around 200 miles to the south.
Bangor also offers refuelling, dispatch services, maintenance and aircraft cleaning. The airport can cater for business aircraft – one speciality is Maine lobsters – but can offer professionally designed menus to serve taste and budget.
Another advantage of the airport has over other airports in the region, is the shortest distance to Europe, only 3,123 miles to London, it has 11,440 feet runway and has 24/7 US customs.
