Oklahoma City – AIC Title Service, an internationally recognised leader in aviation title and transaction management services is proud to announce Bruce Marshall, EVP & General Counsel, as the recipient of the First Chair Top General Counsel Award for the second year in a row.

“We are very excited that Bruce has received this hard-earned award for a second time,” stated Clay Healey, President and CEO of AIC Title Service. “Bruce’s accomplishments genuinely represent AIC’s commitment to be the greatest company in the world.”

The First Chair Awards are an annual selection of in-house counsel who have, through their hard work and innovation, made significant contributions to the legal community nationwide. Honourees were recognized at the First Chair Awards Conference and Gala on August 29, 2018 in Chicago, Illinois.

“It’s truly an honour to receive such a prestigious award and to be recognised by fellow attorneys and colleagues from Aero Law Group, GKG Law and The Pierce Law Group as well as the recommendations made by the First Chair Nomination Committee,” said Bruce Marshall, Executive Vice President and General Counsel at AIC Title. “Over 15,000 nominations were given to the First Chair this year for attorneys from all over the country. It’s a rare privilege to be included among such a stellar collection of attorneys receiving this award on two occasions.”

Bruce Marshall joined AIC Title Service as its Executive Vice President and General Counsel in February 2014. His primary focus is helping to ensure that AIC’s clients and leadership are informed and counselled as they move through unprecedented FAA and industry changes.

On August 30, 2017, he was a recipient of his first award from First Chair. Bruce was also recognised in the November 2013 issue of D CEO Magazine as one of Dallas-Fort Worth’s top corporate attorneys following his win as Outstanding General Counsel or Chief Legal Officer in the Small Legal Department category at the Association of Corporate Counsel and D CEO’s 2013 Corporate Counsel Awards.

He also received the 2011 General Counsel Forum’s Magna Stella Award in the Small Legal Department category and was a finalist in the Major Litigation category. He has over 20 years of experience in litigation specialising in aviation legal matters, contracts and regulations.

He previously served as Senior Director and Division General Counsel of Bombardier’s Flexjet fractional aircraft ownership programme. Prior to joining Flexjet, Bruce served as corporate counsel and business manager for a charter management company with both Part 135 on-demand air cargo and passenger operations. Bruce graduated from Purdue University and holds a Juris Doctorate degree from the Michigan State University College of Law.
