Atlantic Aviation has  signed a new 30-year lease agreement with Pitkin County, continuing its role as the fixed-base operator (FBO) at Aspen/Pitkin County Airport, Colorado. The agreement underscores the company’s willingness to provide services to the local aviation community, according to the FBO.

Atlantic will contribute more than $100m to capital projects including FBO developments. There is also investment to develop the east and west sides of the airport.

The company pledged to continue supporting the local community programmes such as decarbonisation, affordable housing, sustainability and conservation, aviation education and noise mitigation.

“Atlantic Aviation is deeply honoured to extend its partnership with Pitkin County through this historic lease agreement,” said Clive Lowe, executive vice president at Atlantic Aviation. “We look forward to working closely with the Aspen community to deliver a safe, community-beneficial, and environmentally state-of-the-art operation and to providing exceptional service and support to the aviation community and their passengers for many years to come.”

The redevelopment projects will include facilities designed to achieve Net-Zero, LEED Zero, and Platinum Zero Waste certifications, while pursuing Aspen’s Water Integrated Resource Plan’s Net Positive Water objectives.

Jon Peacock, Pitkin County manager added: “This has been a productive and thorough process between Atlantic Aviation and Pitkin County staff who have worked to ensure that the values of our community are reflected in every aspect of this lease.
