AsBAA extends reach into the Philippines

The Asian Business Aviation Association (AsBAA) has created a new chapter in the Philippines, and appointed Max Motschmann to the Board of Governors.

Motschmann, the CEO of International Jet Management Asia, will begin his new role overseeing the establishment of the new chapter.

AsBAA’s new chapter will officially launch during the association’s one day Manila conference in late October.

The conference, taking place at the Shangri-La Makati, discusses the business and general aviation opportunities in the Philippines, as well as beginning the interaction with local companies and the government.

“I am honoured to take up the position as a member of the Board of Governors at AsBAA whereby I will lead on the association’s work in the Philippines, initially.” said Motschmann. “I plan to leverage my skills and experience in the aviation sector to improve conditions for business and general aviation entities, both domestic and foreign, that are operating or plan to operate here, while supporting the government to realise the great opportunities that exist already.”

In its role of promoting business aviation in the country, AsBAA is already recommending that new FBOs are built in all the major Philippine cities.

“Philippines is an island nation where business and general aviation is needed to support the economies, communities and during calamities that hit the country frequently.” said AsBAA Vice Chairman, David Dixon MBE FRAeS, vice chairman, AsBAA, “AsBAA is now preparing to assist the Philippine government to develop rules and regulations which will enhance the business and general aviation industry, thereby creating jobs that lead to the return of highly skilled engineers and technicians while increasing investment into the Philippines and creating new business opportunities in the BA and GA sector”.
