ARINC Direct plans to celebrate ten year anniversary at EBACE 2013
ARINC Direct, a business aviation division based in Annapolis, Maryland, is planning to celebrate its 10th anniversary at this year’s EBACE business aviation event in Geneva, Switzerland.
The company will showcase its current offering of information solutions for the business aviation community, including flight planning and flight following, safety management tools, contract fuel services, international trip support and datalink, and aircraft internet connectivity solutions.
ARINC Direct currently has a customer base of over 2,800 business jets and other VIP aircraft operating worldwide. In the EMEA region alone, the number of tails supported by ARINC Direct increased by 20% in the last year.
ARINC estimates that of the 400 or so aircraft delivered in the United States last year, around 50% had some basic or more advanced form of ARINC equipment fitted to connect to Wi-Fi or other new technology.
ARINC Direct’s Connect, which was launched at the NBAA event in Las Vegas last November, has now moved to the pre-production certification phase. “We are in the process of obtaining RTCA DC-160G environmental qualification, US Federal Communications Commission (FCC) approval, European Community Mark/Communauté Européenne, known as CE, and Iridium certifications for the solution,” says director James Hardie.
A fully operational pre-production version of ARINC Direct Connect will be available for demo during EBACE in late May and full production units will be ready in early summer 2013.
