Al Habhoor Trading and Altran Group launched world’s largest maintenance centre dedicated to business jets and helicopters at the recent MEBA event held in Dubai.
Known as The Wings Valley of Dubai, the new centre will have a maintenance capacity of 60 business jets and 40 helicopters per month and will focus on mastering traffic and repair, whilst offering specialist advice to aircraft owners and crews.
Sébastien Renouard, Altran’s executive director for aviation space, defense and railway, says the MRO will be the first and biggest of its kind and will deal predominantly with business jets in the A, B and C categories. This will include Gulfstream, Falcons, Bombardier Globals and Learjets, amongst others.
“The Wings Valley of Dubai is the most advanced project of MRO in the world,” said Philippe Salle, chairman and chief executive of the Altran Group. “As the developer of the overall concept, Altran will contribute by pooling its expertise in the aeronautics, aircraft-engineering and IT industries to create one cutting-edge global solution. The Wings Valley of Dubai is part of the Group’s global strategy to lead international, complex and innovative projects.”
“We are proud to be part of The Wings Valley of Dubai, and with the expertise of our sister company, the Al Habtoor Leighton Group, we will be able to build this dream into reality,” added Rashid Al Habtoor, President of Al Habtoor Trading. “We are committed to contribute to the full success of The Wings Valley of Dubai, contributing to the future of the UAE.”
Construction for the centre is due to begin in the second half of 2013.
