Abu Dhabi Air Expo is cutting down the frequency of its events from once a year to once every two years, with the fourth expo taking place in February 2016 at Al Bateen Executive Airport.

This change is designed to help the airport while it undergoes several upgrades and refurbishment projects, which will enhance the customer experience at the business airport in time for the Abu Dhabi Air Expo 2016.

A brand new VVIP Terminal is currently under construction, enhancements are also being made to the existing VIP Terminal. The taxiway, airfield and the Sheikh Zayed Terminal will also be upgraded as part of refurbishment.

At the third Air Expo, the airport saw a 30 per cent increase in attendance, with 16,900 visitors and 175 exhibitors from local, regional and international companies participating.

Ahmad Al Haddabi, chief operations officer at Abu Dhabi Airports, said: “Abu Dhabi Air Expo has become an iconic and must-attend event in the world’s aviation calendar and Al Bateen Executive Airport has been home to three very successful editions. It is only sensible that the event of such a calibre is strengthened with facilities and services that support the growth of this show.”

“The planned upgrade is in line with Abu Dhabi Airports’ ambition to deliver world-class airports group offering diversity within aviation, and presenting the best in service to travelers and operators. We look forward to hosting an even bigger show with our upgraded facilities next year,” added Al Haddabi.
