ABS Jets, attending the NBAA Schedulers and Dispatchers conference in San Antonio, Texas has reported that they are seeing record numbers in aircraft handling in the Czech Republic.

During the first week of September 2012, ABS Jets celebrated handling the 7,000th aircraft since they started as a handling agent in 2008. This major achievement was a key part of a record breaking year for ABS Jets which saw an 18% increase in aircraft movements compared to 2011. ABS Jets started as a handling agent for their own fleet of aircraft, the handling department has been so successful it has subsequently grown to handle other aircraft arriving
at Vaclav Havel Airport Prague (former Prague Ruzyne Airport).

In 2011 ABS Jets opened a new hangar, this extra capacity, established the company as the largest executive jet handling provider in Prague. The last 12 months has seen growth in ABS Jets executive handling with the 1st quarter of 2012 recording an almost 30% increase compared to the same period in 2011. This was followed by the strongest month ever in April 2012 when ABS Jets reported a 60% increase compared to the same month in 2011. An integral factor contributing to these increases is a growing number of executive flights to Prague from North America.

Jan Kralik, ABS Jets ground operations director said “The team at ABS Jets initiated a strategy to ensure that our handling department is perfectly placed to manage the increased demand. We opened our new hangar in the latter part of 2011 and have expanded our handling department with an increased number of handling agents. The team is performing extremely well, it is great to see our plans turning into record breaking results.”

Kralik responds when questioned about where ABS Jets growth is coming from given that business aircraft movements in Europe have shown little increase over the last few years “Central and Eastern Europe seems not to be hit as hard as Western Europe when it comes to a flattening of demand for flights. Another factor is that Prague is proving to be a popular destination. Also being an established business jet operator gives us competitive advantage to fully understand the needs and requirements of business jet operators. The extra facilities that ABS Jets has added in the last few years has meant that we offer very competitive, high quality services which has attracted many new customers for us to work with.”

When asked where does ABS Jets go from here Kralik said “We shall continue to build on this growth by increasing and improving the levels of quality, service we deliver and building on our excellent relationships we have with aircraft operators and owners. We find the personal approach and attention to detail we provide is very much appreciated by our customers.”
