328 Design GmbH team328 Design GmbH (328Design)
has announced that from 1 August 2011 it has been approved by the European
Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) as a Part 21J design organization.  Jörg Gorkenant, head of design said “This is
part of the strategic development to bring the Dornier 328 design function back
in-house for a true “one-stop-shop” providing operators with improved fleet
support.”  With its group partner
company, 328 Support Service GmbH as the type certificate (TC) Holder, 328
Design will now support the 328 Prop and 328 JET fleet with over 200 Aircraft

through the global support centre for in-service support of the Dornier 328
fleet and now any STC enquiries.

As a “value-added” service the skills and experience of 328 Design’s
engineers can be utilized by Avionic Mobile Design Services (AMDS), a fully
approved EASA 21J Design Organization for modification design and approval for
all types of aircraft and helicopters.   This company was added to the group in 2009
and has a portfolio of over 200 STC’s (Supplementary TC’s) on aircraft types
ranging from the Hawker 125 to Airbus A320 and helicopters such as the Augusta 109.

Combining all these activities, new 328 Design GmbH managing director Ralf Kohlen
said, “This is an exciting time for our team.
We are looking forward to working with customers old and new on the 328 TC
and with AMDS on various STC design projects around the world, as well as
