328 Design wins EASA certification for Honeywell cockpit display

328 Design, part of the 328 Group has been awarded a contract from ALAMO Engineering to upgrade the EMBRAER Legacy 600 and 650 aircraft family with the latest Honeywell DU-875 ELITE cockpit displays.
328 Design will work towards obtaining EASA certification on the project for an undisclosed end customer.
Honeywell’s Primus Display DU-870 which uses cathode ray tube (CRT technology) will be replaced by the latest generation Honeywell DU-875 ELITE displays, which introduces LCD technology for Embraer Legacy 600/650 operators.
Jörg Gorkenant, chief operating officer and head of 328 Design said: “With over 180 Embraer Legacy 600s and more than 65 Legacy 650s in service and eligible for the DU-875 ELITE upgrade package, this represents a significant avionics retrofit contract for us.”
“EASA approval extends to all EMBRAER 135 variants and 328 Design is already in dialogue regarding other aircraft platforms with Honeywell Primus cockpits. As the DU-870 starts to become obsolete, with higher repair costs, we foresee some good opportunities for follow on work,” added Gorkenant.
