Russia certifies AgustaWestland AW139
MAK, the Russian Interstate Aviation Committee, has certified AgustaWestland’s AW139 medium twin helicopter.

AW139 helicopters for Russian and CIS customers will be assembled HeliVert, a Russian
Helicopters and AgustaWestland joint venture. HeliVert will produce more than
20 helicopters a year from 2011.
AugustaWestland recently
flew an AW139 around Russia on a sales trip. The helicopter started in Moscow
and flew to Kazan and Ufa. It then flew on to Tymen and Surgut in Siberia where it
was trialled by Russian helicopter operator UTair.

The first order for an AW139 in Russia was placed by
HeliClub in May 2010. The helicopter will be used for corporate and
passenger transport missions.
