Cessna delivers first Mustang to China and three more Caravans

Cessna delivered four aircraft to China in June including the first Citation Mustang in the country. As well as the Citation Mustang it also delivered three 208 Caravans.

Deng Bin, an individual who also owns and flies a Citation CJ1+, bought the Citation Mustang. The three Caravans were delivered to: Shanghai HaoHai General Aviation Company; Zhongshan Eagle General Aviation Company, and Hainan Asia Pacific General Aviation Company.

AVIC Capital financed two of the Caravans. It is the leasing division of Aviation Industry of China the state owned aircraft conglomerate. 

“We have a very long relationship with AVIC, so it is very natural to call on this facility for finance support in China,” said Tom Aniello, Cessna vice president of marketing speaking from China. “We are finding a very good market here for the full range of Cessna aircraft – piston aircraft for training up to high-performance Citations.”

Cessna has delivered 24 Citations to Chinese customers. The manufacturer believes its aircraft account for 35% of the Mainland business jet fleet.  Many of the 24 aircraft are used for special missions including flight inspection for the China Flight Inspection Center (CFIC) of the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) and training operations for the CAAC Flying College.

Cessna has a commercial office in Beijing and a manufacturing partnership with Shenyang Aircraft Corporation.
