JP Morgan’s Joseph Nadol killed in train crash

Joseph Nadol, one of the most respected financial analysts who covered business aviation, died in a New York State train crash on 3 February. He was 42.

Nadol was killed when the Metro-North train he was traveling on collided with a car stuck on a level crossing. Five other passengers also travelling in the first carriage of the train and the driver of the car also died.

“Our thoughts and support are with Joe’s family during this difficult time,” said a JP Morgan spokesman  in a statement.

Institutional Investor magazine ranked Nadol as the top analyst for aerospace and defence and he was well known for his coverage of Bombardier, Embraer General Dynamics, Textron and other business jet manufacturers.

Nadol had strong relationships with management at the companies he covered but was also happy to ask tough questions and form his own opinions.  Although he covered all aerospace companies he said that he was particularly interested in understanding business aviation.

He leaves a wife and three children.
