HondaJet completed first FAA conforming flight
HondaJet has completed the first FAA conforming flight from Greenboro, North Carolina in 51 minutes.
The HondaJet light business jet completed its first FAA conforming flight on 20 December 2010.
The flight was completed from the Honda Aircraft Company’s world headquarters in Greensboro, North Carolina. The flight lasted 51 minutes during which a number of the aircraft characteristics and performance were assessed along with other system checks
The company has a second FAA conforming aircraft which has conducted a number of structural tests. Honda is also well on the way to completing the construction of a third conforming aircraft which will join the test programme in early 2011. Five aircraft are planned to take part in the test programme before certification is granted by the FAA.
Honda expects to deliver the first customer aircraft in 2012.
