FlyVictor has cited huge potential in North America and has appointed Bobby Perez, as head of the region, to unlock this, Toby Edwards, Victor’s UK MD told Corporate Jet Investor.

Perez joined the Victor team in 2015, as director of operations and Vice President of Operations. He has now moved up to lead the Victor North America division; overseeing sales, operations and flight management as Executive Vice President.

Edwards said: “Victor North America is in a strong position to continue its upward growth trajectory post management buyout with Bobby at the helm. Bobby is an outstanding individual who is highly-respected by both the Victor team and more broadly within the industry for his professionalism and expertise in sales, operations and flight management.”

Meanwhile, as restrictions are lifting, Victor has reported significant growth during June. The company said it has seen a 70% increase in customer requests and a 100% increase in bookings this month compared with May.

Edwards said: “In North America, there was an evident upward trend for North East to South East routings as restrictions were starting to lift. Interestingly, even with the 14-day quarantine imposed on air passengers arriving in the UK, a similar percentage of our EMEA [Europe, Middle East and Africa] and Asia PAC [Asia Pacific] flights included a UK airport arrival or departure [35% of all itineraries].”

An emerging trend towards more first-time clients has been reflected in Victor’s client list for June Victor has seen 15% growth in new clients this month compared with June 2019 and more than 40% of flights flown were new custom.

Likely due to the decimation of scheduled services, Victor has also seen a big increase in bookings of ultra-long-range aircraft in 2020 compared with 2019.

Despite recent growth, travel restrictions have presented significant challenges to Victor in organising flights for clients. It has a dedicated Victor Rescue team which specialises in managing emergency flights. Edwards said: “Every request had to be carefully examined more so than ever before to ensure it complied with government regulations and was an essential flight only. With the many travel and border restrictions, the logistics for these essential missions can be sizeable.”

Victor has also created a Covid-19 travel restrictions portal (flyvictor.com/covid) to ensure the latest government travel guidance, implemented to contain the spread of Covid-19, is available to all in one place.
