As an association, the Asian Business Aviation Association (AsBAA) elects a new chairperson from its membership every two years.
With Jenny Lau’s very successful two-year tenure coming to an end, AsBAA’s members voted for a new chairperson during the organisation’s annual general meeting in Singapore on June 11. Wu Zhendong was elected as the new chairman. Jenny Lau is the president of Sino Jet.
Wu is the founder and president of Avion Pacific, the Shenzhen-based fixed and rotary sales specialist. In turn, Avion Pacific partly owns Hong Kong-based business aviation consultancy and brokerage Asian Sky Group.
Alongside Wu, the AsBAA members also voted Phil Balmer, Paul Desgrosseilliers, Max Motschmann, Lou-Ann Seet and Rocky Zhang to the board for the next two years.
Speaking on behalf of the new board, Wu said: “AsBAA relies on volunteers with huge dedication and we will do our best not to let you down,”
“I want to congratulate Mr Wu Zhendong who has been an industry leader for many years, and I look forward to handing over to him,” said Lau.
The AsBAA AGM takes place as part of Singapore Business Aviation Week. As well as the AsBAA AGM, the city-state plays host to the Corporate Jet Investor Asia conference on the Wednesday and Thursday of the week, as well as the new ‘AsBAA Takes Off’ event on the Friday.
