ARGUS International, Inc has released an ADS-B enhancement into its aircraft activity analysis and market intelligence tool TRAQPak FBO.

The integration enables more precise aircraft tracking as well as an increase in the number of flights tracked in TRAQPak FBO.

ADS-B is a surveillance technology in which an aircraft determines its position via satellite navigation and periodically broadcasts it, enabling it to be tracked independently of the data provided by the FAA. The ADS-B system is required to be fitted on all aircraft flying in Class A, B and C airspace by 2020.

“With the addition of ADS-B data in TRAQPak FBO, we now have the ability to show nearby flights and even more updated position reports.”

Shirley Mason, executive vice president of Market Intelligence at ARGUS International, said: “With the addition of ADS-B data in TRAQPak FBO, we now have the ability to show nearby flights and even more updated position reports.

“As the FAA’s 2020 deadline approaches and more and more aircraft are equipped for ADS-B, we will continue to expand the number of aircraft tracked. One key feature we are excited to provide to our customers is the ability to filter the ADS-B flights by their specific operational categories just like the FAA ASDI/SWIM data already provided in TRAQPak.”

Each FBO user will be able to turn this new data feature on or off, as well as filter ADS-B activity by operation categories. Turning on the ADS-B feature provides users with a 300-nautical mile ring of nearby ADS-B flights. Users can hover over a ADS-B aircraft to get more detailed flight information about arrivals and departures.
