Al Futtaim Group and DC Aviation announce joint venture

The Al Futtaim Group and DC
Aviation announced that they have formed a joint venture and will build a
new service centre hangar at DWC Al Maktoum International Airport. The project
has taken three years of planning.

Omar Al Futtaim, vice chairman
of the Al Futtaim Group and Michael Kuhn, chief executive of DC Aviation
recently confirmed the joint venture.

A new hangar is under construction at the airport and it is expected to be operational by April 2012.
The facility will hold the joint venture’s UAE air operator certificate (AOC)
as well as be able to perform aircraft line maintenance. The facility will also have VIP lounge facilities, offices
and feature an in-house aircraft charter operation. The joint venture company is hoping
that it will be of particular interest to aircraft management clients owning
Airbus ACJ319 and equivalent aircraft types.
