Pilatus are preparing for a very busy day on Swiss National Day, 1 August 2014, as they get ready to unveil the first business jet built in Switzerland next week.

The company will celebrate the roll-out  event. The celebrations will include some 120 performers, including the Wiesenberger Yodel Group and well-known Swiss rapper, Bligg.

Oscar Schwenk, chairman of the Board of Directors says: “For an aircraft constructor, the rollout is ‘the big event’. I’m proud that we’re able to design and build an aircraft as complex as this for sale on the worldwide market. Our choice of date – Swiss National Day – was no coincidence, and is intended to show just what we can do here in Stans, in the heart of Switzerland. I’d be delighted if you, too, can join the celebration on 1 August!“

Three aircraft will be used for the flight test programme. The maiden flight of the first prototype, presented at the roll-out, will go ahead in spring 2015. Final certification and start of deliveries to customers are planned from 2017.
